In Memory

Carole Birenbach

Dear Fellow Classmates:

I am greatly saddened to share with you the recent passing of our fellow classmate Carole Birenbach.

In response to my email, here is some information from her twin sister Madelaine Birenbach Eppenstein:

Carole and I were best friends, and living so close for all these years made that miracle possible. She travelled the world with her husband Michael but never left Long Island, with a lovely home in Smithtown near where she taught in Hauppauge.

Our service for Carole was graveside in Queens for family only – my daughter and son were especially devoted to Carole – and there is no obituary.  After the funeral we had lunch in Hempstead, which gave us the opportunity to drive through Elmont’s neighborhoods on the way to drop my brother and his wife off at JFK to catch a plane back to Buffalo.

Carole taught elementary school art for close to 40 years. She was so very accomplished and made wonderful art and photography.

I know that we all join together in sending our condolences to Carole and Madelaine’s family.
